ONCE UPON A FIGHT
2024
Once Upon a Fight is the performative exploration of what twinhood can hold in a hyper-individualized world.
by navigating these complexities, TWINS CORP. brought their everyday arguments to the theater stage,
divided in two acts;
On a rainy and windy day, two identical characters take the stage.
Amidst their everyday arguments, they swap roles; rehearsing what it is to be and exploring the boundaries of selfhood.
In the never-ending pursuit of becoming the sole winner, they steer away aimlessly, beginning anew as soon as it ends.
Holding a script, a third figure emerges to narrate and guide the characters actions.
Between love-management and arm wrestling,
mundanity of everyday life takes hold;
leaving behind a scattered and interconnected unit that never, fully, came to be.
by including verbal stage directions such as *holding hand in armpit* and *staring in disbelief*,
the script is written in the very moment it is spoken out loud;
*go on stage, sit down on chairs*
*stare at each-other*
*slowly starting to talk*
C - you never listen to me.
J - you never listen to me!
C - you never pay attention to me.
J - you never pay attention to ME!
C - it feels like I am talking to myself.
